Here is an email that Safa Khan shared with the network.
I thought I would share the good news about the project. We have collectively made 1785 shields and they have been sent out to: VCMC, Santa Paula, Dignity, CMH, Cottage, Ojai, Woodland Hills ER, USC, US Navy, and an additional 100 sent to various other front line providers across the country.
Also, I thought I would share this heartwarming story about Tipu. He is one of the providers that we have protected with our face shields. On top of his normal work at the hospital, COVID-19 motel and riverbed backpack medicine, he has been going out to the farms to talk to the workers about COVID-19. Apparently, many do not have TVs or computers and do not have access to the information they need to know. You can see him here on Radio Inigena https://www.facebook.com/RadioIndigenaEnOxnard/videos/225070898736737/ They translated his talk into Mixtec too. This work we are doing, is keeping other projects like this alive.
I hope you are all well.
